Full Time Mobile Speed Camera Operator (Griffith)
About this role
WHAT WE OFFER
- Full-time ongoing opportunity
- 5 Weeks Annual Leave
- Career Progression and Growth Opportunities
- Fully paid on-the-job training
G4S partners with Transport for NSW to reduce road fatalities. Road safety cameras are a proven and effective way to get drivers to slow down and, ultimately, save lives. Revenue from fines is directed to the Community Road Safety Fund to support priority road safety programs, with most reinvested in infrastructure safety upgrades on roads in NSW.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Mobile Speed Camera Operators are skilled and trained to work alone in an enforcement vehicle that links to a control centre. It is a physical role with unusual hours and early and late starts. They perform a risk assessment and take photos of each site prior to each session, communicate with a control room to align and test cameras, and are trained to respond to angry and aggressive behaviour.
Applications are now open for locals interested in road safety systems, work health and safety procedures, and how to report road safety hazards. We're looking for people who can work a rotating roster that includes weekdays, nights and weekends.
REMUNERATION
Trainee Full-Time Mobile Speed Camera Operators are paid $29.10 an hour for ordinary hours. The penalty rates are $34.92 an hour for night shifts, $34.92 an hour on Saturday's, $43.66 an hour on Sunday's.
These rates increase after training.
RECRUITMENT INTAKES
The next intake of new recruits can start work in October 2026, which begins with paid training. We're inviting applications now to allow for the recruitment process, which takes 4–5 weeks.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Full driver's licence and a clean driving record
- Comfortable being seated in a vehicle for extended periods of time
- Able to work alone for each shift (10–12 hours), drive long distances or to multiple locations in regional and remote areas
